Fabric can be beautiful and strong. Over time, it can also get snags and the edges can fray. Sometimes, even the most beautiful of fabrics may need some repair or support.
Families
can sometimes feel that way too. Christ himself let us know that we
would have trouble in this world as well as the reminders not to fear, that He would
be with us.
Pain and loss are real. Our children come to us with both. If we're truly honest so do we.
Adoption and foster care both begin with loss. Adoptive and foster parents work through losses of their own-perhaps fertility, marriage, control, privacy to name a few. It is required part of licensing to look into your own losses and how you've healed from them...or if you are in need of further healing. You cannot give what you do not have. These vulnerable kiddos deserve parents that are themselves whole.
God is the ultimate healer and restorer. His name, Rapha means just that. God is also creator, Elohim. He has the ability to create everything from nothing by speaking the words then truly He has the power to create something new in our hearts and homes too!
We've all struggled or faced challenges. Here are some resources that may help. God is healer and created you. He is sufficient and the master weaver of your family's fabric:)
